Kent’s Biography

Kent was raised in Nashville, Michigan. He grew up listening to his mother sing gospel music at home and at church.  He attended Vermontville Bible Church in Vermontville, Michigan where as an 8 year old boy, he accepted Christ into his heart to be his Lord and Savior.

Kent was very influenced musically by his parents, his three sisters and his church.  When Kent was about 13 years old his family would travel to other churches near his home town and sing together.  His family quickly became known as, The Hamilton Family Singers.  They were well known for their close family harmony. He had many opportunities to sing solos, has a great vocal range and can sing any part.  He participated in singing in trios and quartets while at his home church.

Kent was a church choir member from the age of 14 to 38 years old.  For a few years, he traveled around the local area singing in a young men’s gospel quartet from his home church.

He sang with a 32-voice choir at the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music for 8 months while attending Bible College.  Many years later, Kent traveled and sang  each weekend with a men’s gospel trio called, “Saved By Grace”.

It was during those years that Kent discovered he has a talent of songwriting  and has written numerous songs.  Three of these songs, “It’s All Good”, “What God Sees” and “Have I Made A Difference” are featured on Blended Heart’s CD project titled, “It’s All Good”.  Audio clips of these songs are available at www.blendedheartministries.com.

After moving to Palmetto, Florida to follow God’s calling into the ministry as an Associate Pastor, Kent met Jackie.  They dated for a year and a half and were married in 2009.  A few years later they moved to north Georgia where Kent was ordained into the ministry by his local church.

Kent preaches when given the opportunity as he and Jackie travel together sharing the gospel of Christ through music and testimony.
